ARcserve Backup 11.1 and HP USB DAT 72

I have windows 2003 server running arcserve 11.1 and a HP DAT 72 USB tape drive. When i goto device manager in arcserve it cant see the USB tape drive. It sees the HDD and the CD Rom.

I have installed the drivers for the tape drive.

    Hi there,

    Support for USB devices was added in SP1 for  11.5

    11.1 Device List:

    11.5 Device List

    Once you update, Arcserve must use it's own Device Management.

    1. Disable the HP tape drive in Windows Device Manager.
    2. Open ARCserve and click > Configuration > Device and follow the prompts.

    Install both SP1 and the Added Device Support Update

    QO78909 ZIP 13.1 MB 05/10/06 NT -DEVICE SUPPORT UPDATE 5

    In that order.

    My problem is with arcserve 11.1.

    If I install the updates for 11.5, the arcserve becames 11.5 and I lose my licences.

    Sorry I missed that about the version, and in that case it wil not work.
