Microsoft producer for powerpoint 2003 - active X control error

When I try to use Microsoft Producer to narrate slides it refuses to open the slides saying that it cannot use the active X control because either my settings prevent active x controls for running or I have blocked the site for the control

I have been into Internet Explorer (using 7 beta 2) and allowed all active X controls and have no blocked sites on my list

any suggestions as this otherwise brilliant free application is useless

Thanks Bruintje

I was already using the 2003 version so there was no upgrade avaialble. I also added every upgrade for office still without success.
I even uninstalled office and re-installed it.

What eventually worked was uninstalling Internet Explorer 7 beta 2 - obviously some setting in this prevents Producer from working and i will report it to Microsoft

I will accept you answer and give you the points for taking the time to try

ok thanks for that :)

that sounds like something MS would like to know about since IE is still a beta, i threw it out on my Windows 2003 machine in favor of Firefox too many headaches with configuration settings, on the XP its still running as it should ;)
Its a pity because for once I actually liked a new microsoft product - i found the interface of 7 a lot more intuitive once you get over the changed placing of things.  However as always Microsoft kill a good product by trying to make it idiot proof and to prevent software they have developed from being used to attack your system!
