Copying GAL to users mailboxes and changing category

This is simply what I want to do:

1. Access the GAL from Exchange
2. Copy it to a list of user's mailbox contacts whilst changing the category for the imported GAL to "Global Address List"

I am happy to write this either in VBscript or VB.NET. Anyway able to fastrack me in the right direction?

    Okay clarrification of what I want to do:

    I would prefer to use VB.NET with MAPI

    1. Access the GAL from Exchange
    2. Delete any contact entries in users mailbox that has a category of "Global Address List"
    3. Copy GAL to users mailbox contact list and change category to "Global Address List"
    4. move to the next user in the list

    E.G. If someone could help me write some programming stuff for MAPI to connect to users mailbox and delete contacts and connect to GAL and copy to users contact list...

    I see now that GAL stands for Global Address List.
