Missing Partition Drive

I  partitioned my hard drive into 3. I tried to resize the 2 partitions using partion magic but unfortunately it corrupted the other partition.

My computer can no longer recognize the other drive. I recovered the partition using partion magic but it doesn't have drive letter and it has different partion type.

I aso tried using Disk Management . I can see the partition , but no letter is assigned. I tried to assign a letter but it wont allow me.

How can I retrive the partion without losing the files saved. Thanks.....

At this point you are probably going to have to use some Data Recovery software to scan and attempt to recover your raw data files and/or repair the parition table (if it is even possible).

There are many, but a couple to consider are:

R-Studio
http://www.data-recovery-software.net/

Ontrack
http://www.ontrack.com/software/

None of these solutions are cheap, unfortunately.

Here's another one I have read about in the past, but never tried myself:

GetDataBack, Do-it-yourself Data Recovery Software

Dont mess with partition "magic", it often does this.  Copy all the data off to another drive, and partition the disk correctly using windows or DOS Fdisk if you want FAT32 partitions.  Also, delete partition magic when all done.  It is now an obsolete unsupported product, and not worth risking your data with it.  If it works, great, but when it doesnt, it really fouls things up.

Partition Magic is owned and supported by Symantec now.  It was originally developed by PowerQuest, later sold to Symantec:

Are you getting any specific error messages?  If so, look them up at their support page:

scrathcyboy is right though -- if you are able to copy any data off, then try that, but I thought from your original post that you couldn't access the files on it.  If that's true you are going to need the services of a Data Recovery software.  (I'm assuming you don't have a backup of your data, because that would be the easy solution.)
