If I right-click on the desktop, like normal, I get an hourglass and everything for that user seems to lockup. Is there a fix for this?

Windows XP Profession SP2 and all latest patches, etc.

Hi GivenRandy,

See if "Method 2" in this article helps. Especially see section "Problems when you right-click an empty area in the Desktop?"

Right-click is slow or weird behavior caused by context menu handlers:

That's a great tool that I'll use. However, it didn't seem to fix the problem. I ended up disabling all the context menu handlers, but no change.

You might try a System Restore back to a date before this problem started.

Yep, it was the nVidia registry changes that did the trick.
