Exchange/Outlook global signature - Confidentiality message included with any email that leaves the exchange environment

I have been tasked with setting up a global generic all company e-mail signature for our Exchange/Outlook environment - below:

"We are interested in pursuing a generic Confidentiality message included with any email that leaves the exchange environment.  Not sure the impact to users who already have a signature (do they just get double) or how to detect who those users are and sending them an advanced message to review.  What are your thoughts?"

1.  How is a global e-mail signature set up and configured in Exchange 2003?

2.  We have MAPI Outlook users and also POP users, so how would we handle that?  Is it possible to add this to all outgoing e-mail even if they are POP users?

Thanks in advance.

You can create this signature manually, but i'd suggest you use a cheap program to take care of it for you if you arent that familiar with the inner workings of exchange.

http://www.slipstick.com/addins/content_control.htm

Also, the signature gets added to all messages at the outgoing smtp part of the process. so the sig gets added to EVERYTHING that leaves the server via smtp, pop, mapi or otherwise.

Existing signatures on emails will be treated as normal body of the message and thus won't be changed.  There are ways to do that, but i wouldnt get too complicated if i were you.

ASKER

Thanks for the tips/link to 3rd party disclaimer tools.   I am going to purchase an application to handle this task.

Do you have any suggestions of which of these applications is better than others?
GFI has a great product.  I think it is mail essentials.  You can download a trial and check it out.  It works well.

Does any of this work for POP mail? Ours is through Network Solutions email. Is there anything that I can use to do that without going into 800 email accounts?
