Why my hotmail account doesn't receive yahoo.com emails?

How can I go about fixing this?

I appreciate if you could send some emails to my hotmail account (please see my profile for the email address) to test some, other than yahoo.  Please indicate in this tread you sent a test email to help me identify those my hotmail account is not able to receive.

Btw, when I send an email to a yahoo account, it goes through.

Thanks

i sent you an email.  let me know if you get it.

I've heard from a few of my friends that the hotmail mail servers are running slower than usual these past few weeks.  I imagine its something to do with Hotmail's end, not your end, unless you have blocked the domain @yahoo.com in your hotmail somehow.

what are the junk controls set to on your account?  can you log in there right now and put the junk email priority on lowest possible just in case?

it's probably going to your 'junk mail' folder, to temporarily fix this, just add the senders' email address to your hotmail address book..

Greetings, eghtebas !

I just sent you an email from my Gawab email address. See my profile.  I do not have much hope of email getting through, as I always have trouble sending to Hotmail with any account except Hotmail.

Look in the Spam folder also. For Yahoo sender, put his address in Hotmail Whitelist or contact list, as Saquang previously stated, to ensure email getting through.

Best wishes!

thephalanx,

Re:> ...unless you have blocked the domain @yahoo.com in your hotmail somehow.

I haven't done something like this (I don't know how it is done).  Just to make sure, do you know how can I go about checking to make sure this is or isn't the case (this domain is not blocked)?

To All,

I use Outlook Express to download my emails.

Also, I created another hotmai account (Mike_Eghtebas At Hotmail dot com) and tried sending an email from my mm_eghtebas at yahoo dot com which didn't go through.

I think there maybe some setting has to changed in my Norton security.  Do any of you know how can I check this?

Do you mean I tell hotmail to let certain yahoo is ok (I don't quite understand it)?  If this is what you mean, there is no specific email I am concern with; I want all yahoo email to come through.

Mike
I can't find 'junk mail' folder in Outlook Express.  Therefore, I did log into hotmail directly and there  'junk mail' folder was empty.

Update:

From my yahoo account I sent an email to my new hotmail account.  The email, after a bit delay, did go through.  When I received it, I wasked me if it was junk mail or not (FYI, thi was my new hotmail account).

I guess, Saquang seems to be on a right track mentioning something about junk mail.  Now, I need to see how can I check and remove yahoo as junk mail from junk mail setting.

thephalanx,

Yes, you can help me with:

How to check and make sure yahoo is or is not blicked with junk mail settings in my old hotmail account (eghtebas at hotmail do com).  I like to keep using this account not to replace it with Mike_eghtebas at hotmail do com.  I would like to revive my old account and keep using it (by revive I meant to do whatever necessay fo it to accept and download yahoo emails).

You had said that you are not able to get email from a Yahoo user.  So put his email address in White list or address book in Hotmail website, and you will get the email.  I am not sure Hotmail will white list an entire domain.  But you can put @yahoo.com or yahoo.com in the white list and see what happens.

I'm a little confused as well.

you should be able to adjust your hotmail junk settings to low or you can add an email address with the domain @yahoo.com to your safe list.

War1,

To rephrase "You had said that you are not able to get email from a Yahoo user." a bit to reflect the problem I am having would be:

.. not able to get emails from Yahoo users.

Re:> But you can put @yahoo.com or yahoo.com in the white list and see what happens.

What is "white list"?

>>

Go into your Hotmail webmail account, Click on Options > Mail and Junk Email > Allowed and blocked users > Allowed senders.  Type in Yahoo.com and click on "Add to list"

thephalanx,

What solved the problem was hidden in your post:

"... your hotmail junk settings to low ..."

Thanks to all.
