Cant Send mail to users with user.name@email.com format addresses through exchange 2003
Whenever one of our users sends an email to or replies to an person which has the email format user.name@email.com then the mail doenst get sent - I get a message about a virtual mailbox error.
There was a SMTP communication problem with the recipient's email server. Please contact your system administrator.

is this internal or external? happening to just one address or multiple and for just one domain or multiple?

Hi,
This is an Exchange System, Internal Email is fine - External email is fine except email addresses in that format and it affects all users to all domains.
Mail is getting sent via Exchange and recieved through a pop connector.

do you have a smart host configured in the smtp virtual server properties
Try sending mail from another external mail to the address in question??

Soory Checked it and there was an configuration prob on he server.
