Skype Compatibility with Windows 2003 Server

Will Skype run successfully on Windows 2003 Server?  I am aware that the OS is not listed as a compatible OS in the Skype requirements, however I thought it may work anyway.

Specifically, what I am hoping to accomplish is to connect the D-LINK DPH-50U Skype USB Phone Adapter (a Skype Gateway) to a session of Skype running on the Windows 2003 Server.  This box is already dedicated to running my Televantage PBX software, so it would be nice to be able to tie the Skype service into that same server, and avoid adding another box or virtualizing another OS on the Windows 2003 box.

I would assume that this program would work on Windows 2003.  There are many programs that list XP...  and not Windows 2003.  However, it has been my experience that the XP programs run fine on Widnows 2003.  XP and Windows 2003 are very similar (similar in the way the programs run on the two Os's).

There is a support forum...maybe ask them this question directly...but I my bet is that it will work.

I shouldn't have been so lazy.  I did check the forum before I posted, and saw that some people were using it, but all had mentioned this use in the context of some problem, so I was still unsure.  To combat my laziness, I just installed and tested Skype on Windows 2003 Server, and it seems to work fine.

Since I had to put forth the testing effort, I should probably give you a B grade, but as I am *also* a networking guy, and also located in Butler, NJ, I am compelled to offer full points with an A grade. ;)  Hope I get to meet you some time, it is a small world.

Thanks
