How can i run Mavis Beacon version 10 typing software for limited users? Users must be limited for security reasons. The Operating System is Windows SP2
I may be misunderstanding but you should be able to install the software as an administrator and then run it under a limited account. Or you can use the Run as... under the limited account and run it using an administrator's user name and password.
Check to see if your OS is running under simple file sharing or not. Remove simple file sharing if it is and then find the Mavis Beacon folder in explorer. Right click on the folder and go to properties. Click on the permissions tab. Then select the "users" account and set up the permissions to allow to read and write.
This must all be done under an admistrators account of course, restart and allow the user to try again.

I installed the software under the shared folder but everytime someone logs in as a limited user they get a run-time error. Mavis Beacon can be installed on an XP platform but the version (10) is specifically designed for Windows 2000 and NT.

In addition, I followed the steps to enter the registry and edit permissions but with no success
