angelIII ,

can i use 2+ servers with sql2005 std edition?
or would i need ent. edition for all 3+ servers?

i have 2 sql boxes now but may need to add more soon.

This depends on how many instances you cluster around.

Say, you cluster 1 insteance onto each time 2 nodes, you need to install the std edition on Node B 2 times, and once on A and C
NODE A   instance 1
NODE B   instance 1   , instance 2
NODE C                    , instance 2

if you want the same instance to be on 3+ servers, you need Ent. edition.
