"Convert" USB ready headset to a 'stero' jack ....
Posted on 2006-05-17
I was wondering if someone could tell me if a product existed (and where to go get it at) that would allow me to take my SUPER DUPER 100% happy with Plantronics USB DSP 400 headset ... and use it with a 'telephone' that doesn't have a USB port ... but does allow for a headset to be used via a standard 'stereo or mono' 2.5/3.5mm legacy JACK.
I love this headset, and I would THINK if i 'converted' it to an analog type stereo/mono jack ... I would loose some quailty, but I don't care ... when I'm not on the phone, I'll keep this headset for ever on my PC for VoIP, games, and other audio things.
NOTE: I have seen where you can take a 'standard' analog stereo'mono headset and 'convert' that to a USB ... but in my case ... I want to go the other way. I want to go from USB type B to analog 2.5/3.5 stereo/mono. What was so surprising was the $ for this 'cable' ... it was about 50 bucks or so ... no matter where I found it on the web. Very costly for such a 'small' converter type cable set.
Thanks in advance for your time and links to product websites.
