I get this error message when i try to compile my helloworldapplication.

I tried this:

'javac' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.

Then tried this because I have a folder on my c drive called j2sdk1.4.2_05. I am guessing this is what holds the java vistual machine.

C:\Training\Java> cd C:\

error: cannot read:
1 error

Maybe I have the wrong version so I am downloading the latest veriosn from here:;jsessionid=837194B387C3FA83CEF442B6B30BBF14;jsessionid=837194B387C3FA83CEF442B6B30BBF14
