Problems with the hello world tutorial from the java website

I get this error message when i try to compile my helloworldapplication.

I tried this:

C:\Training\Java>javac HelloWorldApp.java
'javac' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.

Then tried this because I have a folder on my c drive called j2sdk1.4.2_05. I am guessing this is what holds the java vistual machine.

C:\Training\Java> cd C:\

C:\>j2sdk1.4.2_05\bin\javac HelloWorldApp.java
error: cannot read: HelloWorldApp.java
1 error

Maybe I have the wrong version so I am downloading the latest veriosn from here:

from C:\Training\Java try:

\j2sdk1.4.2_05\bin\javac HelloWorldApp.java

your versions fine, you just need to add c:\j2sdk1.4.2_05\bin to your PATH
