What's the meaning of fi in Makefile

I am new to Unix makefile and need some clarification for the following sentence:

if [ -d c/rel/inc ]; then    mkdir c/rel/inc;    cp -u -f c/inc/* c/rel/inc; fi

What's the meaning of the last fi?

    fi indicates end of if block
    if condition
