Exchange smtp configuration

hi, i have 3 exchange 2000 server in the organization.
just one server can send email to external organization directly to internet. And relay the external email from the other 2 server.
we adquired one appliance (anti spam and email security) and i need to forward the all external outgoing email to this appliance.
what is the configuration to do in the smtp or routing connector without affect the internal routing.

Set your bridgehead Exchange server smarthost (properties of the smtp virtual server, delivery tab, advanced button) to the IP of the appliance (remember it needs to be enclosed in square brackets [] ).  Your bridgehead Exchange server is the one that communicates with the outside world via the appliance. Set the appliance to deliver smtp to the bridgehead server.
On the other two Exchange servers, set the smarthost to the bridgehead server IP.
Create a routing group and appropriate connectors to route email between the servers.
Question has a verified solution.
