CAT3500XL and HP Procurve 3400cl Trunk

I have a Cisco CAT3500XL and an HP Procurve 3400cl....  Does anyone know of a way (without adding hardware) that I can make Link Aggrigation (802.3) between them.  After reading the DOCs on both sides it dosnt look like they support the same Trunk protocols.

Help!

You're correct. When the 3500XL was sold, the LACP standard (IEEE 802.3ad) did not exist. Cisco used their proprietary PAGP. Since it has limited, hardwired memory, they never added that capability. And of course, the HP doesn't support PAGP because it's Cisco proprietary.

Wish I had better news!
