Intermittent connection failure to the exchange server.

This is what one of my colleague did at a job site:

They have two sites, two separate domains, two separate exchange servers, all connected via a Cisco VPN.

They needed to have one exchange site, so I took the server in one site, removed exchange, demoted it, brought it into the domain of the other site , made it a domain controller.

Re-installed exchange server, moved mailboxes , etc….

There were a few pitfalls along the way, and Microsoft assisted in getting them resolved.

One of the event ids that is perplexing us is the  event looking for the old domain still.

We lost the terminal service to the server after this whole upgrade.

Any steps or anything we should be looking at would help.

9057 is one of them exchangeSA
I don't think there were any DNS issues, THere was also a logon issue that was still looking for the old domain name.

Windows 2003 and Exchange 2003

One of the issues pointed to the Global Catalog which my colleague did turn on just today, which may have resolved some issues.

I will have better info once I am on site with my colleague.

It was a rights issue on the domain, and a call to microsoft and a couple of hours later seems to be resolved.
