550 5.7.1 error on email sent to second address set

I have a new exchange 2003 server setup that is not accepting email sent to our second address set. We need two addresses (user@address1.com and user@address2.com). I have one domain setup, with the second address entered in the recipient policy. This was working fine before i upgraded now i am at a loss to fix it. Needed mail is getting refused, and i am hoping for a fix quick.

Thanks!

Jess

If you need a fast fix, call Microsoft.

Otherwise, ensure that the domain is enabled in recipient policy. If it is not, then the message will be NDR with cannot relay. You haven't said what the NDR being returned actually is - the error code is close to useless, the actual text is more help.

Do any addresses on this second domain work?
If you do a manual telnet test to the second domain, does that work?

The worse case scenario is that the the IIS Metabase isn't being updated with the new recipient policy and the SMTP service doesn't know it is responsible for that domain.

Checked the address in the recipient policy and all was good. I didn't want every new user to get the addess by default, but i can deal with that.

Thanks for the help.
