What does a downward blue arrow next to the queue icon for an Exchange 2003 server mean?

we're having a problem with email hitting our server, but not being delivered. I can see it being delivered as far as the advanced queueing but not making it to the client.

Have you got message tracking turned on? That is the best guide.
Advanced Queueing is where the AV kicks in. I would look at your antivirus software to see if the email has been quarantined. There has been a spate of certain applications suddenly deciding to quarantine everything.

That was a great "heads up" about advanced queueing and AV apps. The messages had indeed been snagged by an app that we have running (Trend Micro Messaging for SMB). It was the first time that it had "grabbed" an email.  "Sexual discrimination" was the reason given although there definately wasn't any of that going on.  Thanks also for the link about message tracking.

I checked my exchange and I do have the message tracking enabled. You have a very nice and informative website.
