Adobe Updater

Updater works fine on 2 computers, but will only update Photoshop 9, on the third. That leaves 3 items the way they were when I first installed PS. The one item I would really like updated is Bridge. The error I get is Bridge Can't be updated at this time. Also in the preferences for what is going to be updated, there is only PS9 and Bridge.

I have not found any documentation about your problem with updater. While we look for a solution, you can always bypass updater by going here:   http://www.adobe.com/downloads/
This will always get the very latest update releases possible on all Adobe and Macromedia products.

I need to know what operating system you are using. Do you get any errors when you run bridge? (without trying to update?)

I have been to that web site. It has version 1.0.3. The latest version is 1.0.4.6 (104504).
Windows XP-Pro. I get 2 errors, the first says there was a problem moving files, some files may not have been moved ( sometimes it will create a ICON copy, but that goes away as soon as I click on the original picture). The second says there was a problem wrighting megadata (this will sometimes assign A new file number and create a new picture).
I can live with problem for awhile. I am hoping the update will resolve this issue.

You are correct about the version number. Seems odd. I have a contact at Adobe that I am trying to reach. It will be probably be Monday PM before I can get through. I'll pass on what I find out.

Let me see...how best to ask...If these are all licensed copies of PS let me know that you have licensed copies for all three machines. Otherwise say nothing and I will know to look for a different set of solutions.

That would be great. There seems to be a problem with the updater preferences too. That could be the whole problem.

I use a legal full version of PS9 on 2 machines and a upgraded version on the third. Ask anything.

:) Makes life easier!

I came across this in the Adobe Support Knowledge Base: http://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/328349.html

That is why I was asking if you were getting any error messages.

It is not the same problem that you are experiencing, but the solution may be similar.

It's a bit drastic. I recommend waiting for a better solution before giving it a try.

I posted your problem in Adobe Forums hoping that an Adobe engineer might stumble across it.

The only response has been " Make sure both Bridge and PS are closed down before you click the Install button on the updater."

Don't think that this is your problem, but I thought that I would pass it along.

I am sure that both had not been opened, when I ran the repair from my CD. I guess your friend at adobe could not help, right? Does anyone have an idea why the adobe site does not have the most recient version of the updater?

He's not a friend, he’s an acquaintance. Friends return messages.

Anyway, I posted your problem in the Adobe forum with no response. I’m out of ideas other than spending the bucks for a tech call to Adobe.

Sorry. (If anything DOES turn up, I’ll be sure to pass it on)

I am sorry for your disapointment. I used to use the forum alot, but not any more. This placve has been my best soure of info lately. I am alright for now, but I guess Ill have reinstall sooner or later.
By the  way I never got an answer to any question by calling adobe tech. I paid for a 30 day trial support service, I got my money back after they couldn't answer 3 simple questions.
