Hi Experts,

I intend to connect to an online database using Ado.NET, within a application and display the data on a form.

I have never done anything involving ADO.NET and would be grateful for some information/examples/tutorials regarding this.

I dont know what format the databases are yet so any type is fine for now.

Initially the databases will be online and eventually i will be doing some work with offline databases so some info on that aswell would be great if it is disimilar compared to working with online databases.

Try for some Connect via an IP address solution to remote databases.  They should help or at least give you an idea how to connect.
