PC shutdown on printing in network

I have a small network ob 2 computers one desktop connected to the main printer and another laptop through a hub. i used routinely to print documents in my laptop and print it through the printer which is attached to the Desktop pc. I noticed recently that when i write document in word and print document in printer the desktop pc shutdown suddenly and I have to switch it off and on again from main power to start again. desktop is running smoothly and it shut down only when i send documents from my laptop. any advice

try removing & reinstalling the device drivers for the prtr on both the desktop & the laptop

also try changing the prtr's prop's from emf to raw, or to print directly to the printer instead of spooling

how exactly is your hm netwk setup?

broadband or dial up? if broadband is it like: modem - router - pc using cable & laptop using wireless
