remove the user name from the login screen

Hi. I need to remove the Administrator username from the login screen on a windows 2000 server. When you log off and press ctrl alt del it come up with the user name Administrator. I wish to remove this so it shows no user in the user name box.

You can do this by either applying a group policy or setting the follwoing registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

DontDisplayLastUserName

to "1". If its not there, create the value as a REG_SZ. Here is an example .reg file you can import:

we have it applied at the domain level.
