Basic to dynamic disk conversion problem

I have tried to convert a basic disk (with low disk space) to a dynamic disk but it gave me operation failed. i restared the server (2003) after that and it refused to boot again. i have tried to boot again from windows 2003 CD but couldnt recognize the partitions again, any idea how can i recover the disks?

Try booting the server with a knoppix CD, and then try mounting the bad partitions and copy the data to some other (network drive or USB disk etc) place.


Remove the Disk(s) from the server and install a basic 2k3 on a separate HD. Now reinsert the malfunctioning disk(s) and try copying the data off. You may need a utility from


to recover the data.
