Hi, is there any way of doing this:

track the volume of emails over a 2 month period going to a specific mailbox [say,], AND also track the volume going to an alias/non mailbox [say,] that gets forwarded to the mailbox?

    Accepted Solution

Out of the box, not really.
Technically you have a few options:
Turn on message tracking and review the information through Exchange system Manager.
Open the mailbox and count the messages
Pull the logs into a database and analyze them (time consuming)
A former employer had some savvy web programmers that analyzed Exchange logs with MySQL.
I have pulled these logs into Access and wrote small queries.  My goal was to look at messages, recipients, and mail across connectors (i.e.  How many messages go from Server A in RGC 1 to Server B in RGC2)
Use a third-party tool such as Quest Message Stats or Promodag.
