WatchGuard SOHO 6tc Can No Longer Be Opened by LogViewer . . . WSEP Logging

I have a SOHO 6tc running the latest firmware at a remote site.  I installed the WebBlocker key and rebooted the SOHO and configured WebBlocker.   The WebBlocker works fine but now when I try to open a log file that has a web-surfing event in it I get and error.  I can view the log file through the web interface of the SOHO but whe I use LogViewer from the Firebox System Manager I get this:

"The log file L:\MySOHO-2006-05-22-6-00-00.wgl cannot be opened."

How here is an interesting tidbit.

If I roll the log file and allow a few events to be logged (but no web traffic) then roll it again I can open those log files.  If I roll it again and then surf the web and then roll it yet again and try to open that newest log file that will have the web traffic in it then it will error out.  Does that make sense?

It seems that something about the SOHO WebBlocker is creating a problem with WSEP logging.

On my side here at the corporate office I have a WatchGuard FB1000.

Thanks in advance!

One thing I have done to get the logging on the SOHOs working is to setup WSEP logging on another server and send those log files to that server.  So far it is working.  Odd that it stopped on the main WSEP server.

My next step is to uninstall WSEP on the main server and reinstall and see if I can move them back.

I'll post back with more info later.

    Accepted Solution

Ok it looks like the solution was to delete the WSEP logging software from the server and re-install it.  Simple enough.

Odd that installing WebBlock on the SOHOs created this problem though.

I'm gonna ask an admin to close this question.
