DTS error trying to copy text field

I am trying to copy data from a view on one database to a table located on a different table using a dts package transform data task.

As soon as it tries to a copy a field that is defined as text (does have more than 4000 characters) I get an error that says too large for buffer size.

Any ideas?

Are we talking SQL to SQL?  I've heard of this when going from Access to SQL.

sorry I forgot to mention I am talking about a sql server view and a sql server table.

Text fields are such a pain.

Unfortunately I can't change the table definition as it is a vendor table.

Perhaps I need to copy into a temp table?

Please help!

I didn't mention the fact that I was going from a sql server view to a sql server table so I wanted to award points  to aneeshattingal for sending the link about going for access to sql server

however, since it really didn't solve my problem (my bad)..I didn't award a grade of A
