I have a main site with the main DC.  I also have remote sites with DC that replicate from the main DC.  The sites are VPNed into the main site.

I have users who travel between sites.  what is the best way to manage the mobile users.

    Hi intellie_ex,

make them members of your domain, set up DHCP within each site and make sure you laptop users are set to DHCP - that will deal with connectivity, now what else do you WANT to manage :)

Do you also need them to connect at the hotel, home, hot-spot,...?

If yes, it may be easier to keep them out of the domain and have them connect as terminal client.

Are they using wired or wireless network?

If they are exclusively using the wired network, i agree with "Intellie".  If they use wireless network, chance are they will use it in hot-spot too. Then use them as terminal client (RDC) connecting to either office using VPN.

What exactly do you mean by "what is the best way to manage the mobile users" ?
If you want them to connect to the office, you have a VPN server configured already. You should be able to add them as mobile users to connect securely through a VPN using a software client, and access mail, files, or use remote desktop. How have you established the existing VPN ? Built -in Windows VPN server to server, or using VPN routers at each site ? Either way, with the right client you should be able to set them up as mobile VPN users. With more details we could be more specific.

Yes and also wat security considerations do you want in place?. Must they have updated AV?. Do you use one AV throughout your domain?. Do you want do disallow them from logging in if its outdate?. Only thing to always remember except even for you network config and joining think of the risks mobile users bring to your network. They can always keep u in danger. You might have to use RADIUS server with policies and so forth?.
