Class or methods not recognize

hello, i have the following dims but for some reason (probably add-ins, etc.) i can't see the ADODB in my properties/methods

Dim objConn As ADODB.Connection
Dim objRec As ADODB.Recordset

as well i can't set excel.application (i.e. myexcel As Excel.Application)

can someone help understand what I might be missing in my vb6 install.  Thanks

    you need to add MS ADO references

    From project menu->references -> MS ActiveX Data Objects 2.x library

    where x can be 0, 1, 2, 3, 4,5 etc
