Start Up

How can I remove some of the programs that automatically start when windows start? I don't see anything on Start - All Programs - Startup. I need help on both XP and Windows 2000.

    go to MSCONFIG, START-RUN-type MSCONFIG <enter> then located any programs you recognize that you can turn off. Note your changes as you may need to re-enter them.  Restart your machine

    msconfig only works on xp unless you have imported in.... :-)

    start run - regedit - HKLM - software - microsoft - windows - current version - run

    thats what msonfig in XP taps into so you delete from there
