External mail not being delivered into a mail address within the Public Folder
I accidently deleted our support folder of the public folder list but managed to recover the data by doing a restore of the tape. Although all the content of the folder is there no new content is being delivered. Everytime I try to send a test mail from an external email address such as hotmail all I get is these bounce backs:
Reporting-MTA: dns;svr-mars.emea.corvu.co .uk
Received-From-MTA: dns;cvlnx01.corvu.co.uk
Arrival-Date: Tue, 23 May 2006 14:19:08 +0100
Final-Recipient: rfc822;support@corvu.co.uk
Action: failed
Status: 5.2.1
X-Display-Name: Corvu UK Customer Support
Your help would be much apprecated. All other mailboxes are fine and working correctly
Many thanks

Have a look in Exchange System Manager to see if the folder is still mail-enabled. Right-click it, and look at the All Tasks options. If 'Mail Enable' is shown in the list, then the folder is no longer mail-enabled.
check the email address of the PF.. has it been appended with something like "recovered"
is the internal mail flow to the PF working fine

The folder is mail-enabled but I don't know where to check if the email address has been appended with something like "recovered"? It something more indepth as I have looked into almost all within Exchange System Manger but still no luck

Prakash
are you able to mail this folder internally?
ASKER
Yes can email internally but can't email externally? So don't know what is really happening. It was working until I accidently deleted.
Right-click the folder, and select Properties. There is an 'E-mail addresses' tab. Make sure that the address you are using is in the list.
ASKER
yes that address that we are using is in the email address list as support@corvu.co.uk but still getting NDR with that error
what are the permissions set on the PF?
Is anonymus set to contributor?
maybe this could also be due to replication... how many exchange servers..
let me try to send an email to this address and check the NDR
