live cd samba

are there any live cd linux that I can mapnetwork drive form fileserver so that i can copy some in formation to another hard drive

I use knoppix... it *can* write to ntfs if this is what you want, but I would only recommend reading from ntfs and writing to fat partitions

SDL can, too (Damn Small Linux), and actually most liveCD's I know can. A DSL (called Insert) is by the way included on the full version of the UBCD which includes many other usefull tools.

well knoppix is the linux live cd available on net at:

www.knoppix.net

after u download and install it u can boot the system using the cd and then u can make tht system as ur fileserver or so...

In knoppix whre is ftp client I have  knoppix cd but i can not see ftp client please suggest

You'd have to edit the /etc/samba/smb.conf file to get access to the knoppix box, but this is somewhat compliacted, and after a reboot you loose the setup, with a liveCD. If you have an existing PC which can share files, like Windows XP, 2kx server or 2k, then it is easier to connect the knoppix box to one of these. Is that what you want to do?
