KDE vs Gnome in Suse 10 and 10.1

I perfer KDE because of it's ease of use and that for most of it's life it just seemed more stable than the "big bully" Gnome.

I am told that Beagle works fully only in Gnome in the later versions of Suse.  That is what intrests me in upgrading to 10.1

My major problem with KDE is Konquoror.   If I click in  a link using firefox, suse "associates" the link with Konquorer and brings that up.   This is anoying and it would be better if Konquorer was the default for system files only.

Questions:
1)  Is the Beagle tail true ?
2) can I get firefox to default to starting firefox for links instead of konqueror

Open the Control Center and look for the KDE Component Chooser. Here you should be able to choose your default browser. I don't even know what beagle is, so I wouldn't know about that, but if you have enough HD space, you can install both gnome and KDE, so you could change the GUI is beagle doesn't work properly inside KDE. But most gnome software also runs inside KDE or other desktops if the necessary dependencies are installed.

I looked at your certifications, Don't you ever sleep ?

Beagle is a index / search engine that is one of the buzz words for suse in a desktop envirement.  Desktop Search has saved my butt a few times at work when I put all the companies .pdf files in a directory and index them.    Now ask me a help desk question !!!!!
