re: cgiemail

Hi all!

I'm trying to get my cgi email form to work, and have followed the instructions, but to no avail!

Any help would be appreciated.

---------------------
1. My isp is www.planethosting.com.au
2. My account has a cgiemail script, with the following instructions from http://web.mit.edu/wwwdev/cgiemail/nopath.html
3. I have uploaded email.txt to my public_html and to the following folder cgi-bin
4.email.txt looks like this:

from:                    [email]
To: yasmine@somewhere.tld
Subject: Online Query
Errors-To: yasmine@somewhere.tld

Firstname:               [firstname]
Lastname:                [lastname]
Email:                   [email]
Phone number:            [phone]
Preferred contact mode:  [preferemail][preferphone]
Subject:                 [subject]
Question/Comment:        [comment]

5. My form in 8.htm looks like this:

            <form name="form" method="post" action="http://www.somewhere/cgi-bin/cgiemail/email.txt">
              <table width="100%" border="0" cellpadding="2" cellspacing="2" class="fonts">
                <tr>
                  <td width="23%">Firstname:</td>
                  <td width="77%"><input name="firstname" value=" " type="text" size="45"></td>
                </tr>
                <tr>
                  <td>Lastname:</td>
                  <td><input name="lastname" value=" " type="text" size="45"></td>
                </tr>
                <tr>
                  <td>Email:</td>
                  <td><input name="email" value=" " type="text" size="45"></td>
                </tr>
                <tr>
                  <td>Verify Email:</td>
                  <td><input name="verifyemail" type="text" id="verifyemail" value=" " size="45"></td>
                </tr>
                <tr>
                  <td>Phone Number:</td>
                  <td><input name="phone" value=" " type="text" size="45"></td>
                </tr>
                <tr>
                  <td>Verify Phone Number:</td>
                  <td><input name="verifyphone" type="text" id="verifyphone" size="45"></td>
                </tr>
                <tr>
                  <td>Preferred Contact Mode:</td>
                  <td><input name="preferemail" type="checkbox" id="preferemail" value="checkbox">
                    Email
                    <input name="preferphone"type="checkbox" id="preferphone" value="checkbox">
                    Phone </td>
                </tr>
                <tr>
                  <td>Subject:</td>
                  <td><input name="subject" type="text" id="subject" size="45"></td>
                </tr>
                <tr>
                  <td align="left" valign="top">Question/Comment:</td>
                  <td><textarea name="comment" value="comment" cols="50" rows="10"></textarea></td>
                </tr>
                <tr>
                  <td>&nbsp;</td>
                  <td><br> <input type="reset" name="reset" value="Reset Form">
                    &nbsp;&nbsp; <input type="submit" name="submit" value="Submit Email">
                    <br> <INPUT TYPE="hidden" NAME="addendum" VALUE="http://www.somewhere.tld/thankyou.htm">
                  </td>
                </tr>
              </table>
            </form>

6. When I try to submit an email here: http://www.somewhere.tld/8.htm, the following page displays: http://www.somewhere/cgi-bin/cgiemail/email.txt, with the text: "Cannot find server. The page cannot be displayed. The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser settings."

Thanks
