Delete old Email Addresses

Experts,

We have just recently done away with a couple of our domains and we need to delete the email addresses that correspond to those domains from some of the users in Active Directory.  Is there an easier way to do this, other than manually checking the email address of each User to see if they have an email address to that domain and deleting it?  We are currently running a Windows 2003 domain and Exchange 2003.  Thanks

I had used the following article couple of months back to remove proxy addresses which got stamped because of a policy. Check if this applies in your case as well..

If you have checked (Automatically update e-mail addresses based on recipient policy), this can be found on: Active Directory Users and Computer>> Properties of user>> E-mail Addresses.  Then go Exchange System Manager>>Recipients>>Recipient Policies>>Default Policy…Then change the Email Address domain!
I hope this answer your question!
