Distributed File System, does the service have to run?

Hello Everyone,

I noticed on one of my Windows 2003 Server that in my service section Distributed File System is Disabled. I use to use DFS shares among several of my Windows 2003 servers now and I believe I disabled this service.

Do I need to turn on this service for my domain to work correctly?

Thank You
Josh
