We have recently changed from POP collection of our two domains to a direct smtp feed on our Exchange 2003 Server.  I have configured the secondary domain (sec.com) in the recipient policies as @sec.com and checked that i can ping the mail.sec.com domain from an external source (it returns the correct ip address).  The primary domain (pri.com) is working fine.

sec.com users can send email but messages sent to them get rejected with the following;
There was an smtp communication problem with the recipient's email server. Please contact your system administrator. <domain.com #5.5.0 smtp;550 <user@sec.com>, Recipient unkown>

I can telnet into mail.sec.com 25
helo mail.sec.com gets a response but no matter what mail from address i put in i get a rejection '501 5.5.4 Invalid Address when the address is fine.

I'm thinking it's some sort of dns issue but any help is greatly recieved!!

This is now resolved.....

Even though i had disabled POP collection via the Wizard i had to actually delete the entries before the secondary domain collection would work.

Thanks for the suggestions!
