Compaq Autoloader failing to work
Greetings.
I have just acquired a second hand Compaq Autoloader Series 4120.
I intend to hook it up to my proliant server 8000.
Just switching on the device shows an error (devise failure). There are flashing green lights at the back near the scsi connector and the error on the autoloader screen is "hardware err 3eh".
Does this mean the device is dead!! or is there something i need to do to get it working.
thanks in anticipation.

Start by checking for tapes in the library or in the drive itself. Also try it connected to the computer because that can sometimes make a difference.
Could also be bad termination.
