Problem Running GoldSync after migrating to a new server

I'm running Goldmine (GM) Business Contact Manager 6.7 with GoldSync (GS) on Windows 2003 Server.  I have 8 GM licenses, 3 GS licenses, and 3 undocked users.  All machines point to the shared folder \\Server01\GM, which is mapped as the g:\ drive on every machine.  Both GM and GS have been running well for 3 years.  I even had success running GS as a service until now.

I recently migrated to a new server, strictly following FrontRange's procedures for migration, including maintaining a consistent server name.  The old server (where GM was resident) was called Server01 and the new server was called Server00.  Now the old server is called Server02 and the new server is called Server01.  When I try to run GS from any machine, (g:\GMW6.exe /s:goldsync /u:goldsyn1), the app runs in the systray but the status is idle:

[1] Sync Agent  [11:20 am - 5/24/2006]
1>Idle

Previously the status would be: "Listen for Remote - This sync process is currently active."  I can run GS from within GM using the Syncronization Wizard, but this only runs when I'm here and when I remember to run it manually.  Any ideas?

My GM system info follows:
Product = GoldMine® with GoldSync®
License = D-0008-42191633
Versions = GoldMine 6.70.50123,  BDE 500 [4/11/1999],  Windows NT 5.02.3790 Service Pack 1

System Files = g:\
GoldMine Files = g:\gmbase\

If your familiar with the Goldsync Administration Center... delete and re-create the server. This will often fix such problems.

Yes, I did that twice. I even created two new servers on different machines and tried hosting GS from those - no luck.

physioage,

Can you post a summary of the sync profiles you are running for your remotes, or maybe one as an example? That might help us get to a solution quickly.

An example of a sync profile appears below.  This profile works fine when I manually start GS using the sync wizard.  The problem is getting the sync server to start automatically.

Name      GALIT (Galit Nissanoff)

Enabled      Yes
Site Codes
Send Changes To Remote      Yes

Are you able to sync at all?

If you can, then try this on the remote:

1. Go into File > Synchronize > Synchronization Wizard, click the Next button until you see a screen (second-to-last one) asking "When do you want to connect with this site?".
2. Check the "Connect continuously" option.
3. Click on frequency and select a sync-frequency
4. Click on Finish.

I'm not sure if that is what you are looking for...

I was able to sync when I ran GS manually from within GM.  I couldn't sync without being logged on to GM.  I just called my GM VAR and had a technician connect to my server and fix the problem.  He added the local IP address of the server to the IP addresses stored in the one-button sync profiles of the sync sites.  It cost me $150, but now it works!

...this is why FrontRange recommends having someone who is GoldMine-certified set up and modify GoldSync installations. There are so many factors involved that it can usually best be covered by a VAR.
