I have a video that I would like to put on my website.  As I understand it, I need to convert the dvd so it is one file to do so.  Currently the file is in 3 seperate folders, Audio_TS, Video_TS & ULEADDMF.  I have download a converter, Media Coder, but I am not getting the one file in the end and the files I do get will only play audio or nothing at all.  The files are being returned in AVI format, which should work, but when I start the windows player it says it cannot read them.

Thanks,
Lazer

P.S. I hope jason1178 answers this, I owe him some much deserved points.

Hi lazergates,

1. Try using MediaCoder to go to MPEG-2 and not AVI.  You may get some better results.

2. Are there any files in Audio_TS?  Usually that directory is blank but included for DVD player compatibilty reasons.  If Audio_TS is empty, just add the Video_TS folder in MediaCoder and process it.  Audio should get picked up that way.  If you try to process file by file, you are going to get some strange results.

3. This is one of those things that is almost impossible to troubleshoot because so much depends on who created the DVD you have and how.  If Media Coder isn't working, you need to start doing some Google searches to find out if someone has had the same problem as you.  You are going to end up learning a lot about how DVD video is encoded in the process.  Here are some starting points for you:

OK three more questions, if this fails I will just pay our tech guy to do it.

I am assume that I want to be in "Joiner"  mode rather than "Normal" ????
When I do this it tells me "to ensure a sucessful join, please reapply sampling."   How?  Is the Audio Sampling rate something I can adjust?  How?

Thanks for you help.

Maybe, maybe not.  What you want is to convert the videos from DVD format to something you can post on a web site.  I think joiner mode combines all the VOBS into one massive file and that may not be what you want.

I'm not an expert on this software.  I just use to convert from one format to another.
