So it was a trick question. :-)

David's suggestion would be a good thing to try.  The link may not be the best if you want more of a business/professional printer.  I actually used the "suggest a printer" link on this page (http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/us/en/sm/WF02a/18972-236251-236268.html?jumpid=re_R163/GW/color_LaserJet).  The key is it will ask you questions that will make you think of what you really need and then suggest some models.  You can use the specs of the models to look at other maker's printers.  In some sections of the HP website they will actually list and compare other manufacturer's printers.

The question you asked me will mainly depend on what you really need.  The 11x17 option is going to be a big cost and will really narrow your selection.  How many pages a month?  How much color per page on average?  What type of paper?  If you will only occassionally or rarely need to print on 11x17 and then it would need to be "professional" looking you would be better of going to an outside source for that printing.  At least in my opinion.

Let me know if you have a problem finding the website for the manufacturers I already mentioned.  If you will also look at ink printers then Epson are really good.  I hate the software they have you install but they are worth it for those that need ink and the quality.  The price can be reasonable too.

Let me know what you think of this info.  I will be happy to help more but would need some responses to this information.

Thanks guys, one more question about cost on cartridges?
How much I save on cartridges if I use laser printers?
There are a number of factors that go into that.  I don't have personal figures to give you.  This search on Google (http://www.google.com/search?num=100&hl=en&lr=&safe=off&q=cost+printer+cartridge+vs+toner&btnG=Search) gave me some interesting sites though.  Try to find a test that closely matches your printer use to get the most accurate idea of your cost/savings.  I hope you find this info useful.
