Changing you system admin password in Windows 2003 environment

If you change your domain administrator password in a Windows 2003 environment, is that anythng that you have to do with Active Directory. I though I read somewhere that you need to setup you domain administrator password into Active Directory?

As long as "Administrator" is in AD and displayed as USER, you should be good to go. Right click on the entry and RESET PASSWORD.

(make absolutely sure you record the new password info)

You need to make sure that services that require your admin password are actually starting up, especially the automatic ones.

Hi GlennCameron,

admin account is no different than any other user, you just change it and check services like irwin mentioned
