Sip Phone number are hardcoded in evry devices?

Is it the fact that all sip devices be it sip phone / adaptor has unique sip telephone number hard coded on it/them?

can we read the same on the body of the device?  can they have multiple numbers  ( in case of multiport adaptors) ?

    No all SIP devices have to be configured with at least the following information before they can be used:-
    1) Server to connect to
    2) Username
    3) Password

    Multiport adapters will be configured with the above settings for each of their ports.

    As per my knowledge, The SIP devices dosn'e have the numberin their body. In the case of SIP soft phone the service provider will sned out a mail regarding the details of the user name and password and other details to our personnel mail id.
