ImageReady question - Creating text instead of images within slices

Hi. I'm building a website in photoshop and using imageready to build the pages. I've got the website built, I just have one question. I'd rather have text as text in the page, so that users can search the pages for something, however, I also need to insert several links into the page's text. I have a line of links that I want setup at the bottom. Is there a way to tell imageready to output text instead of images and then I could go into the HTML code and make my links? I noticed you can set slices to nothing, should I just do that and then write the text in?

No.. what you want to do is slice that are where the text is located. The resulting sliced image will be used as your background image in that slice.  Once you have that, you can add HTML text.

Ok. So would I add the sliced image name to the td tag?

<td width="??" height ="??" background="sliced_image.jpg"><a href="register.php">Register for mailing list</a></td>

Something like that?
