Can you tell us something about your configuration?

I assume, you have an exchange server (which version), a domain (AD), which account / password have you resetted, the XP ?!?

OS is SBS 2003, Exchange Server 2003 sp1 On a domain and a power user account .
It took about an hour, then took the password and is working fine. Im still not sure what took so long to update.

Jepp, it takes a little bit time, but usually not an hour. Maybe have a look at the exchange store maintenance scheduling, if this correspondences with your time lag. You can experience this also, if you disable or delete a mailbox, it take some time until it disappears.
