Connecting 2 T1 DSU WIC's

Hello everybody,

I picked up two Cisco 2610 routers to start practicing my CCNP.  Instead of going with the DB60 serial cards and cables I went with the WIC-1DSU-T1 interface cards.  I need to connect both these interfaces together to act as a serial interface for the labs.

Now I think I figured out the cable problem.  I made a T1 crossover and the CD LED is now green on both interfaces.  The only problem I have now is that both the interface and line protocol are down, even with the no shutdown command entered.

Please help, thanks!

One side needs to provide clocking

R1
 interface serial 0/0
   service-module t1 clock source internal

R2 will default to clock source line

What encapsulation protocol are you using? HDLC, PPP, other?
What pinout did you use on the T1 crossover?
Did you remember to enable the interface with "no shut"?

Great thank you, that worked.  I was trying clock rate which wasn't working but didn't notice the service-module command.  I got it to work with both HDLC and PPP.  Thanks again!
