I need empty MSA20 drive carriers

I am asking a very difficult question so no pat answers. I am trying to find a part for an MSA20 drive array. If you go here http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DocumentIndex.jsp?&lang=en&cc=us&contentType=SupportManual&docIndexId=179166&prodTypeId=12169&prodSeriesId=420469&lang=en&cc=us and select StorageWorks Modular Smart Array 20 Maintenance and Service Guide
then turn to page 2-2 you will see figure 2-2 which displays number 1 "Drive carrier". I need to find empty driver carriers that are compatiable with MSA20 so that I can load my own drives without buying the over-priced HP drives of lower quality. So the question is who makes them for HP and where can I buy the drive carriers from. I need 8 for a new DL380 G4 with MSA20 enclosure. Lots pf points to the first person to give me a place to buy the empty drive carriers so that I can add my better drives to the MSA20.

Also going through HP does not help. HP parts dept. can not give me a part number.

Why don't you just buy the complete drives, 2nd hand and possibly defective, from ebay and then remove the drives from there? HP won't sell these parts separately.

What does it mean to be "Always On"?

Is your cloud always on? With an Always On cloud you won't have to worry about downtime for maintenance or software application code updates, ensuring that your bottom line isn't affected.

I would but I can not find any without going to HP and they want over $250 for a 160GB. Which we all know is way to high. If someone could even point me to a website that sells used drives for the MSA20 I would be happy.

Try ebay, I'm sure they sell such drives there. You might have to look now and as they might not be available at all times.

www.dstor.com/p_HPPLSATA.shtml (just google for HPPLSATA to find retailers,) they're about $60 each.

Obviously if the MSA itself goes wrong then you have to take all the clone caddies out and hide them before calling HP out or they'll say you've voided warranty.
