I want to back up Exchange 2003 using microsoft backup utility (Built-in)

Hey Experts,

What folderer/files will I need to backup and restore a Exch 2003 server?  One of my collegue/boss said I need to backup an "API" or the backup of the I.S. is worth less.  

Summary what needs to be backed up as far as exchange data???

Microsoft's Built-in Backup Utility NTBackup is an Exchange aware backup utility. Once you will launch NTBackup on the server running Exchange, it will give you an option to backup the Exchange related files in a separate container, you just need to tick the checkboxes and it will take backup for you.
