Administrator Password

I have a Windows 2000 PC which i have run the recovery utility on and now it is looking for a password whereas before I have never required one.
It's not at the GUI login phase but the message has a DOS screen and states "This PC is protected by a password authentication system and cannot be accessed. To access enter the Primary or Administrator Password and Press Enter"

Does anyone know of a way around this ?

That is the bios password. This can be reset by switching a jumper on the mainboard or by removing the battery of your mainboard. Sometimes it takes a while, keep trying.

A utility such as CMOSpwd may be able to recover your BOIS password by booting of a floppy. You can get a copy of this at http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/CmosPwd
