MDI forms

Hello Guys,
                 Wanted to ask you to give me a litle lesson on MDIChild forms. How do I assign childs to the parent at design? Also, I need the parent form have some working space of its own, say a panel on the right where I would be able to place controls and stuff.

Regards
Serge

Hello Serge,

To show a child form on an MdiParent place some code like this in form load of parent:

MyForm myForm = new MyForm();
myForm.MdiParent = this;
myForm.Show();

As much as I know you can't put controls on an MdiParent form. You should display a child form and put controls on that.

Good luck

u can add controls to the mdi parent form. In order to show your controls correctly place your controls in a panel and dock it.
